How effective are the filters?The SW512 Air Filter-Ionizer features the latest in air purification technology - high negative ion emission combined with HEPA standard filtration. HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Arrester) refers to a universal standard of filtration which is 99.7% particle removal down to 0.3 micron, (considering a human hair is between 70 to 100 microns you can see how tiny that is!). Standard HEPA Filters |
These filters effectively capture particulate down to 0.3 micron. In the average home they will last 5-6 months, and are NOT washable or reusable as they are multi-layered, sealed units comprising special electrostatic surfaces. |
Anti-Bacterial HEPA Filters |
These filters comprise the same construction as the standard filters, and also contain a formula which destroys on contact 99.9% of airborne pathogens, including bacteria & viruses. This not only effectively removes these nasties from the air (and thus our breathing zones), it also puts a stop to their breeding within the filter medium itself. An absolute must for the winter months, or for the immune compromised. |
